At present, we are working to bring you things that we originally planning to put in the May version update. When this situation began, we were only able to do a limited amount of work from home in light of security and development resource-related concerns, but thanks to the tireless efforts of various company departments, we are making steady progress towards achieving full capacity. The development and operation teams are currently attempting to cope with the new normal, telecommuting to help prevent the disease from spreading to others. Today, May 16, marks 18 years since service started for FINAL FANTASY XI.Īt the same time, the world is dealing with an unprecedented crisis in the form of the novel coronavirus, and I wish for the swift recovery of all those who have been affected. Matsui here to say a few words on this, the day of the 18th Vana’versary. Incidentally, the Nexon’s recent financial presentation confirmed that the Final Fantasy XI R mobile remake is still coming and the plan is to release it in the west besides Japan and Korea. We hear that the team has shifted to telecommuting and is making steady progress toward full development capacity. ![]() The game was originally launched on May 16, 2002, in Japan, and Square Enix published a message by producer Akihiko Matsui (whom we interviewed a few weeks ago). Final Fantasy XI has been around for a crazy amount of time considering that it’s a pay-to-play MMORPG, and today it’s celebrating its 18th anniversary.
